Side note – when I’m in a pinch for time, using bronzer as an all over lid shade adds dimension and takes just a few seconds. And I love that this isn’t a warm-toned palette which I feel like is what we’re seeing a lot of these last few months. Blue Steel is a bit chalkier and just takes a little more work to get the optimum color payoff. With the exception of Blue Steel, every shade is very smooth, soft and applies very easily. While it’s not a bold, in-your-face, bright palette – it is great for everyday use. It looked very basic and light and just like it wasn’t going to make for a number of different looks. The dark brown & navy shades are great at adding more depth to any eyeshadow look and layer great with the eyeshadows in chapter #3.Ĭhapter Three // EmphasEYES ::: Honestly, I was a little underwhelmed when I first saw this. However, I do take a small angled brush and apply the lightest amount of black eyeshadow along the outer portion of my eyelids to make them appear larger and this black shadow works really well for that. I never wear eyeliner on my upper eyelid, I find it closes off my eyes even more so and just doesn’t flatter me. Something I do enjoy in this palette is the black shadow. I’ve been really into “natural” makeup lately and have been reaching for my super light “nude” peachy blushes a lot.
They’re bright and pigmented and just more than I’m looking for on a everyday basis. I am a blush lover and these two just aren’t two colors I reach for often. I like a subtle “lit from within” glow that looks natural and wearable everyday, and thats exactly what you’ll get from this sheer opalescent highlighter.Ĭhapter Two // Blush & Define ::: Out of the three palettes, this is my least favorite. I’ve mentioned before, while glowing disco ball highlights are cool, they’re definitely not my thing. Candlelight is also one of the best highlighters I have. Never happens with these, they’re amazing. then applying a crappy bronzer that takes over everything and ruins your makeup. There is nothing worse than spending all that time prepping your skin, priming, applying foundation, concealer, setting powder etc. The powders are so finely milled, apply really subtly and blend out so easily. Know what I mean? I do not contour regularly and don’t even wear bronzer daily but when I do, it’s more than likely a Kevyn Aucoin product I’m reaching for. A lot of contour powders can look muddy and just overpower your makeup and so many bronzers can appear too orange and just…not cute. I have a really hard time finding both contouring AND bronzing powders that work well for me.
